Damn the Horizon's trailer is impressive. I'm sure going to get those. Anyway, how many opponaut have the Xbox one? How's the Fiveza compared to the Fourza?

I have one but don't have Fiveza. I love my Xbone.

I have one, and I have Fiveza. Nice graphics, but pretty damn boring. There is basically no progression of any kind. Gran Turismo FTW

I haven't watched the trailer yet for this reason. I will stick to iRacing and spend the Xbox One money on a couple extra monitors for my PC and put the rest towards track day fees/goodies for the FR-S. haha

I have one and Fiveza. Fourza is still the best racing game ever made, Fiveza was rushed out for launch but is much better now. Still no sense of progression but the Drivetars are now fun since they have had their murderous intent taken out. All in all if you have an Xbox One get Fiveza.

I've got a One, and I do enjoy Fiveza. They made some daft decisions when it comes to UI and such, and there's no marketplace - which could easily be a dealbreaker for some - but the driving physics are my favourite of any Forza game. The car selection isn't up to the standard of 4, but Horizon looks to put right a few of those oversights. Still no decent Peugeots, but then - aside from a token 205 T16 - Forza's never really done right by my favourite marque.
Truth be told, I think the PS4 is probably the better buy this generation... But the Xbox has Halo, the Xbox has Forza, and so the Xbox has me.

Well, The Xbox has Horizon 2. So i choose them. Plus i never own an Xbox in my entire life, never really interested to own one.
UI? Naaah. I've survive Symbian , so i can survive anything.

Fiveza is boring because there is no accomplishment or progression. I had an F1 car an hour into the game.

I actually prefer this approach in regards to unlocking content. I just hate grinding in general.

Fiveza is fun, but it is just lacking a career mode. I mean, there IS a career mode but it is just "Select a type of car and go run it in a series of races" and not "Start with a shitty car and mod it and develop your skills until you can move up to a better car and work your way to an F1/LMP car."

Symbian was pretty good ...right until they tried to make a version for touch screen

But I mean, isn't it better when you start with a 1989 Civic and work your way up? I don't want to be racing in a 900hp Viper 30 mins after I start playing...

There should be a middle ground, someway that allows you to gradually move on to faster cars without requiring 11 zillion hours to unlock the top tier stuff.

I'm going to get one probably around the end of the month or a little later. Mostly for Dragon Age Inquisition, but I'll be picking up Fiveza as well.

That's what i'm talking about.
I used to have Nokia 5800. It's awful.

A friend of mine had one of those. It was god-awful, but at least it retained Nokia's trademark brick-like construction. Whenever you asked him for the time, he'd be more likely to chuck the phone to you than actually tell you.

Ooooh, I'd forgotten that Dragon Age: Inquisition was still coming out this year; I think I just assumed that it was part of the mass of games that had been delayed to next year. I'll probably be playing the PC version, personally; it's my preferred platform, and the game's cheaper to buy.

Well, as I am on record as a total BioWhore, I'm buying the fanciest version for the One, and money is not really an object there. I have also found that I vastly prefer RPGs with a controller in hand in a TV setting - so while PC setup to do that is possible, it's not an inherent quality.

Ah, I'm the exact opposite. I've always preferred playing RPGs with a keyboard and mouse, in spite of my first experience with the genre being KotOR on the original XBox. The only varieties of game that I pretty much universally prefer to play with a controller are racing games and platformers.
I used to count myself among the proud BioWare faithful, but Mass Effect 3 - the whole thing; the ending was actually a relatively minor part of it - was a huge disappointment for me, Dragon Age II wasn't really what I'd been hoping for, and I couldn't stand Star Wars: The Old Republic, so I - regrettably - find myself approaching their games with some measure of caution these days.

If you look around, you can probably find one that comes with Fiveza. I found one a couple weeks ago with it. Also, you could download Fiveza for free over the weeekend if you have a Gold membership, not sure how long that is going for.
In any case, hold off on buying the game separately until you check out those options.

I have Fiveza. I prefer Fourza. More for the fact that I don't have access to anywhere near the amount of cars as Fourza but that's been something that has been dwindling since 2. The overall feel of 4 was better in my opinion that 5. 5 is stunningly beautiful in terms of graphics and sound, but I still feel that 4 was a better game.
I'm still excited as hell for Horizon 2 though. I loved Horizon because I've been through Colorado quite a few times so it was relatively familiar (in terms of places like Red Rocks), and I'm so excited to be able to see how they do Europe for someone like me who's always wanted to go but hasn't had the ability to yet.

I've noticed that Microsoft has dropped the price of the Xbox One to $399. I've also noticed that it comes with Fiveza as well. So basically you're getting the game for free and $100 off of the console.

I agree. With the previous Forza's, you got better rewards the higher your rank/driver level. Now it's all the same. Not even the greatest selection of cars either.

I was browsing Amazon for Xbox One games (got a $50 gift card for my birthday) and I noticed that you can pre-order Halo 5: Guardians already. $59.99 for the standard edition (no other editions yet) and a release date of 31 December...2015. This is the longest they've ever gone without a Halo release and they're trying to cover that up with the "Master Chief Collection". A collection of games that (as a Halo nerd) I already have. Well, except the Halo 2 Anniversary Edition but if I do pick that up, I'll wait until it hit's the $20 bin. Pretty upsetting when I was hoping for a November launch.

It's a shame, to be sure. I'll probably be getting whatever the 'midrange' collector's edition is once it's announced, as is my habit.
I'm actually quite excited about The Master Chief Collection. I'd probably have gotten it purely for the sake of being able to play Halo 2 online again, with fancier graphics, but the way they've set up the multiplayer - you can go from playing a match in Halo 1, to a match in 2, to a match in 3 and so on, all within the same playlist, and with the original physics and glitches from each game intact - is really interesting to me. It's incredibly convenient, and carries the potential for some truly spectacular multiplayer sessions with my old Halo friends.
I'm pretty chuffed that they're throwing in the Nightfall miniseries, too. And even without all that, it's not like it'd be the first time I'd bought a game purely for the sake of getting access to a Halo beta. (Crackdown, as it turned out, was actually a lot of fun, but that's got nothing to do with why I got it.)

Now that I did not know. I assumed that it would be Halo 1 through 4 all with their own discs. So seamless multi-player through all 4 games with each games graphics/physics respectively? I may have to check that out now.

Yup. They're even implementing campaign co-op multi-game playlists—so, for example, you could play every Warthog sequence in a row.

Same. The accomplishment is driving better, improving your lap times and beating your friends, not doing 200 races just to get the car you wanted in the first place or having to go through a painfully annoying challenge to get the track you want (GT5 Top Gear VW bus bullshit).
Fuck that crap, the fun in a racing game is *gasp* racing. I can accept the GT-style license thing in a career mode, but locking down free play type modes until you've completed some arbitrary thing is just stupid.

I actually wanted to pick up Xbox one and Fiveza until a number of complaints about Fiveza and the disastrous launch of the console put me off. I'll stick with Fourza and GT as well as picking up a PS4 for Mighty No.1

I'd definitely go with a PS4, if the Xbox didn't have both most of my friend group, and the exclusives I most want to play. Forza 5 is a good game, genuinely, but it isn't worth buying the second-place console. Halo, on the other hand... I would do horrible, horrible things for Halo.
(Seriously, though, I'm actually mainly a PC gamer.)
